Imperial Cities of Marrakech, Fes, Rabat and Meknes
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat
We pick you up at the airport or your hotel in Casablanca, depending on your travel plans. We whisk you away to the Imperial City of Rabat, which is the political capital of Morocco. Here you will have your own private local guide to show you some of the city’s most beautiful monuments like the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah Des Ouidaias, the ancient Merenid necropolis of Chellah and the old medina. We rest our heads for the night in a lovely riad in Rabat.
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
After a delicious breakfast in our riad, we’re off to see the beautiful Meknes and Volubilis in a day steeped in history. Both cities have a myriad of cultural influences– from ancient Rome to the Berber tribe of Meknassis, the Almohads and Merenids. We have local guides to show you the highlights of each city. We arrive at Fez in the evening. Here you can wander through the maze of winding streets as you explore the ancient medina while taking in the sights and sounds of the old city. Fez El Bali is one of the oldest in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a long day exploring ancient ruins and discovering the surreal medina of Fez, you can dine on traditional Moroccan meal food before sleeping soundly in a beautiful riad to restore our energy.
Day 3: Fes
We spend the day soaking in the sights and sounds of magical Imperial City of Fes, led by your private expert local guide. Your guide will reveal the puzzles of the myriad of souqs and culinary delights (like snails and b’sara). This is a fully customizable day, where your guide can show you the highlights of this ancient medina, and can include any places you don’t want to miss! With your guide, you can explore Bou Inania Medersa and Medersa el Attarin and Sahrija. We spend the night in Fez, again in a riad in the medina.
Day 4: Fes – Marrakech
We bid Fez Fes farewell as we head south towards the bustling metropolis of Imperial City of Marrakech. We journey along the mountain ranges of the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains, with their majestic beauty. We briefly journey through Ifrane, Azrou and Beni Mellal. By late afternoon, we arrive in magical Marrakech where we spend the day exploring the D’Jemaa El Fna, the medina and souqs with your own private local guide. You will spend the night in a beautiful riad in Marrakech.
Day 5: Marrakech
Today is a full day indulging your sights in senses in this famed bustling city. As we continue exploring the Imperial City of Marrakech, you will be expertly shown the best of this fascinating city by your local private guide who can take you to the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, Ali ben Youssef Medersa, Jardin Majorelle. We can then continue exploring the medina. As this day can be fully customized to fit your travel plans, we can help you arrange a hammam or even a cooking class. We spend a second night in the action-packed Marrakech.
Day 6: Marrakech – Casablanca
After a leisurely breakfast and a final morning in Marrakech, we bid this vivid city farewell. We transport you back to Casablanca, where your tour ends but your memories of your fantastic experiences will last a lifetime.
